Who We Are

Joshua's Haven was founded as a response to God's call to "feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and shelter the homeless." This mission in the city provides food, shelter and a place to know God for adult homeless men.

Services Offered

We offer temporary emergency shelter for 6 homeless men on site. Each man receives a warm meal and supportive services. Spiritual programs are available for all men who stay at Joshua's Haven.

Get Involved

Join with us to help at the Mission. We have projects, events, and programs that need volunteers from our community. Our Food Program, Shelter Program and Spiritual Programs are just some of the ways to help.

About UsJoshua's Haven was founded as a response to God's call to "feed the hungry, clothe the naked and shelter the homeless." In 1977 the vision came to Sherry Masotto Swetz, when she heard a still small voice say, "Write down the vision clearly on tablets, make it plain for all to see, for the vision still has it's time it will not dissapoint, and if it delays, wait for it, it will surely come. Feed them with My Word, for without My Word they are hungry, clothe them with My Love, for without My Love they are naked, and shelter them through the storms."In December 2003, once again the voice said, " Now is the appointed time, the vision that I promised you is about to come to pass." In August 2005, Joshua's Haven became a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a small Executive Board. In November 2008, a location was found in downtown Sharon, PA, and the city mission based on the spiritual and corporal works of mercy began.

MENS SHELTER

Men's Shelter Program

We offer temporary/emergency shelter for 6 homeless men on site. We are open from 6pm-8am, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Men are accepted on a first come first serve basis. After clearances and screening each man receives:

A warm meal

Shower

A place to sleep in a safe, clean environment

Supportive services

Spiritual programs are available for all men who stay at the Mission.

Resident Assistants on site during hours of operation.

EXODUS PROGRAM

Exodus Program

The Exodus program is designed to work with residents to conduct a structured job search, using Job Readiness services offered by agencies such as

Career Link and Mercer County Community Action Partnership.

ADVANTAGE STAY

Advantage Stay

The Advantage Stay program assists residents who are presently receiving income from:

Employment

Social Security

Unemployment

Pensions

This program helps residents transition to permanant housing.

SPIRITUAL

Spiritual ProgramsEvery Tuesday, Attend teaching with guest speakers at the Mission.Every Thursday, Bible study is held at 7:30 pm. Teachers include: Frank Harriger, Keith Roqueplot, and Cary Parsons.Community is welcome.Every Saturday, Service with Pastor Brian Pleasant at 7:00 pm.

SUMMER LUNCHEON

Summer Luncheon Program

The Summer Lunch program provides Free lunches to anyone in the community.

Every Saturday beginning June 5th.

12:00pm-1:30pm

At the City Mission

The Bread Program gives free bread.

Saturday and Sunday from 2:00pm-4:00 pm.

We ask churches, organizations, businesses and individuals to sign up for one day each month.

You may volunteer by donating a prepared meal to the mission.

It may be a pot of soup, stew, spaghetti and meatballs, or a casserole dish.

We invite you to make a difference... Change your heart...
